Aiken Land Conservancy Hike Series: Langley Pond

Join Aiken Land Conservancy Executive Director, Peter Kleinhenz, on a hike to Langley Pond Park. The hike will travel two miles through hardwood forest, longleaf pine forest, along the pond, and on a short boardwalk through a swamp. We will learn about this recreational resource that Aiken Land Conservancy helped protect and expand back in 2010, while also searching for any plants and animals we can find.

This hike is part of the South Carolina Land Trust Network’s Land Trust Days, a celebration of the land conservation happening as a result of South Carolina land trusts and an opportunity to connect with the land organizations like Aiken Land Conservancy have helped protect.

This hike is kid-friendly, so please feel free to bring your little ones along.

There is no need to RSVP. Simply show up at the trailhead at 9 AM if you are interested in joining.

Where: Langley Pond Park, Loop Trailhead (33.525437, -81.845520)
When: Saturday, October 7, 9-11 AM
What to Bring: Water, sturdy shoes, and binoculars and camera (if you have them)
Trail Condition and Distance: Uneven foot trail, boardwalk, and gravel road, 2 miles total
