Acquired by the Aiken Land Conservancy through a generous gift from the Dufour family, the property is predominantly wooded and supports wildlife habitat, water quality, and passive outdoor enjoyment. Once fully integrated, the Dufour Community Forest will function as a natural extension of Boyd Pond Park and will be managed as part of the park through a lease agreement between ALC and Aiken County Government. Acquisition funding was provided by Aiken County Government, the South Carolina Conservation Bank, and primarily through the U.S. Forest Service Community Forest Program, which also covered many due diligence expenses.
