Aiken Land Conservancy Hike Series: New Haven Farm Conservation Easement
December 7 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Free
We have a very exciting hike for you in December! Conservation easement landowners, Adam Snow and Shelley Onderdonk, have generously agreed to host a public hike on their 267-acre conservation easement northeast of Aiken. Their property includes spectacular horse pastures, a large pond home to many notable bird species, interesting uplands and wetlands, and frontage along Shaws Creek. We will walk approximately 2.5 miles, learning about both the habitats we see and how a conservation easement works.
This hike is kid-friendly, so please feel free to bring your little ones along. We will mostly be on roads and trails, but some off-trail walking may be involved when checking out some of the wetlands. These bushwhacking excursions will be optional.
Due to limited parking and to minimize our impact, this hike is limited to 30 participants. You must register ahead of time. We will share parking directions with the participants in advance of the event.
No bathrooms will be accessible during this hike, so please go before you arrive.
